Founded in 1977 in Long Branch, New Jersey, Court Liquors is a fourth-generation family business specializing in the procurement of elite wines, spirits, craft beers, and cigars, in addition to eclectic and sought-after food and cocktail accompaniments.
Owned by the Zimmerman family, who has successfully managed retail businesses in Long Branch for over 100 years, Court got its name after a five-year legal struggle over the distance between their storefront and another liquor establishment. Hence the name Court Liquors, as well as an address on West End Court.
Inside the unassuming building, patrons are treated to a carefully curated selection of wines from Italy to California and regaled with stories of visits to wineries, distilleries, and top-notch vendors around the world. Owner Michael Zimmerman empowers his staff to manage nearly all aspects of the operation, including buying, merchandising, staffing, training, and even creative development.
